Belief

Seeing our beliefs is very important. As you no doubt have discovered, a belief is an idea construct that is put together out of many false assumptions/conclusions based upon our sense information.

Of course some beliefs have taken years to construct and can be very powerful. The ultimate, final belief is that "I" exist as a separate, isolated entity who initiates action in an external world that existed before I was born and will continue to exist after I am gone.

Please work on that one.

And what proof do you have that this is the case? It seems to me the world exists as it is, and continues to do so after others die. Why would I consider it not to continue to exist after I die?

And in regard to a separate, isolated entity, I would say we each do original things in this moment of existence, each unique, each isolated. You do not write nor think what I write or think. Therefore, you are not me...you and I are unique.

If you simply adopt the idea that "no belief is true", then you're turning Jed into Jesus and expecting him to do all the work for you. The point is to do the work and question the fuck out of what you have already adopted (beliefs), not to adopt more (the idea that all beliefs are bad).

"If you simply adopt the idea that "no belief is true"..."

Assumption. Missed the point. Untrue. Please re-read original comment.

"then you're turning Jed into Jesus..."

Assumption. Missed the point. This isn't by Jed. Please re-read original comment.

"...and expecting him to do all the work for you.

See previous comment.

"The point is to do the work and question the fuck out of what you have already adopted (beliefs), not to adopt more (the idea that all beliefs are bad)."

This is all that needs mentioned, yet already mentioned in original comment with an assumption as a trailer.
