Ah, the little feeler.

Yanno, you are a day late in your comment. Lost my bet. Damn gambling...

Is an observation and a comment grounds for 'does it matter?'

Does communication matter?

Once again, distraction and side-tracking. If you'd like to expound on what matters to you, lay it on us.

Does it really matter?

Of course it matters if you want to have meaningful conversations with diverse peoples. I have found that in understanding how to communicate with others teaches me about my own bullshit filters, and allows me an insight into others. OR we can sequester ourselves and keep our own understanding of things without others input, or understanding.

You taking what I said out of context. My question was to Zam, yet again talking about "others'. Hence Zam's little remarks to moi.

Yea, conversation with ‘others’ is good ;) Now, would you consider the quote below ‘conversation?’ Well, I don’t, but that’s just me.

Now, if you want to have good juicy conversations on these boards, ya’ gotta get in with the right crowd, yanno? Sit around and gossip in private. When River came back, holy smokes! That went on for weeks. The latest and greatest has been the to-do here on YAW in regards to copyright infringement or whatever it was. Oh yes, true concern over other boards and what was being said. Then you have to go around all these other boards and follow all the juicy happenings. Then, sit around and gossip about it in private.

But, back to our little ‘feeler’ here. Over the years it seems conversation is not possible. All you’ll get is the usual one line pokes and prods. No substance drawn forth, just the pokes and prods. I’m very familiar with it, it’s what I used to do. Agreement, disagreement, doesn’t matter. There’s nothing there.

Interesting how the discussion of ‘others’ has arisen. Everyone I know talks about others. Even those self-proclaimed in the know. I’m quite straight-forth about it so you usually know where I’m coming from. Daph and the cronies prefer to do it in private though. Whoa, talk about judgement! Makes me look like a saint! Eh, to each our own, I suppose.

Maiv, this seems to circle around to your initial post in regards to those who think they are in-the-know. If they behave in a certain manner of course their followers will do the same. What behaviors would those be? Poor communication skills, (one example meaning one-way communication, I say, You do, gossiping in private, etc., etc.,) and serious cases of a lack of self worth. Good fakery going on, but one learns to see through that after awhile.

What’s up with the followers though?? Even more insecure and worse conversation skills? The conversation skills; How do I state my opinion? Also, no-one wants to really say anything for fear of being dissected or being wrong. That’s the self worth issue. Did I get approval from who I’m attempting to impress? Amazing.

So, back to conversation. Just hook up with either Daph, Ellen, Lori or Vicki, and you’ll be set. Well, as long as you are conversing about someone else ;) Of course there are many more out there, but these mentioned do a right fine job of it. Now, if you’re really serious, I can hook you up with some true Masters, but that would entail many more years in practice of gossiping, lying, backstabbing and manipulation.

Let me know.

P.S. Oh, I almost forgot, yes, it does matter! Just as much as the private gossip sessions! Just remember though, once you’ve voiced your opinion you’ll be labeled as ‘such and such and so and so.’ As long as there’s a consensus, it’s all good.

Oh, forgot to mention the back-lash.

This will range from snide comments to lectures to....well, who knows?

Comments are good! Communication is good! Not all will be pleasant though.

Yet Another Way: A forum for those interested in spiritual evolution to exchange ideas and to learn.

Evolution and learning!

Whoa, just these two words hold a great deal of belief, and do I dare say, truth??

What's holding on to us though? What's holding on to you? Why the re-action when one is seen through? Of course 'something' is 'holding on to you,' not you holding on to something, right? Who in the world would do that??

Well, of course there are many 'whys.' Really only one though. Such as there is only one way. Many paths, one way.

:t2 :t1 :t2

Follow the titties! The truth lies in the titties!

Hmmm.....but seriously.........

Seems to me to be similiar to this little dude.

Awakening 101: Straight face, smile, looks around, looks down, contemplates then hurls.

How do these steps relate to your own awakening?

P.S. Don't get me started on these icons. I could tell a tale of each of every one of 'm in regards to the way

I've long been fascinated by plays, dramas, movies, especially ones where the characters are drawn not so much by what they do but by what they say. In this regard, I think Edward Albee is probably my favorite playwright. And for some reason, I still cannot understand Shakespeare, but that's another story.

That having been said, I read a book about how to read plays once and one line in particular really stood out, and I keep thinking it is applicable to the this thread, at least to the direction it has taken. The line was, "People only talk when they want something."

As Zam quoted, the stated purpose of this forum is to "exchange ideas and to learn". There are lots of ways of learning, imo, and conflict, drama, and gossip are all valid.
Is that so?

I feel like I have missed something but Im gonna comment anyway.

Gossip is only effective if the gossipee is taking it personally. I know I have been the subject of gossip, not only here but in "real" life. So what. If folk have nothing better to talk about than me, well, God love em'. It really makes no difference what others think. What is important is what we think about ourselves. I must go back to the prison of taking things personally. Everyone gets an opinion...do I have to abide by that opinion and conform to it? No. What about the people doing the gossiping? Maybe they are trying to process their own issues by talking about someone else...who knows. Why is it important?

AND the titties arent where its at....its here, follow the bouncing urethra...it will lead to truth.

I agree.

What's interesting though is that if someone makes a comment, they are automatically labeled as 'taking it personally.' They may have, or they may not have.

Is gossiping important? I don't know. Doesn't seem very efficient though. Just seems to continue the fakery.

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of wo/men?

Gee Kris, tossing out four specific names hoping the titties would bite, huh?

Kris - how long ago was it, you graduated from high school? Are you taking it personally, again? When is any of this bullshit folly around here a popularity contest?

Maybe you and Erik should go out and have a drink together. Buddy-up. Im sure you two have a lot more in common than you'd think.

Stop griping and get over yourself, slappy.

Yeah Kris was gossiping about gossiping, apparently. Virgo men are the worst *gasp* did I say that? :jump :jump

That was rude. I am not sure how I got into the conversation as I don't say much here, these days....But
are you saying you don't talk about others at all Zam? Cuz I do believe that's what you are doing right here.

I have no idea to what you refer or what you are basing this comment on.
I guess you know what you are talking about though eh?

Good enough then.

I do have a question, though Kris, how do you know who is gossiping if you are not somehow taking part?
