The Old Sorcerers

Postby serendipity on Fri Dec 26, 2008 9:54 pm

Check this out,......................name of the band is Portishead,....................name of the track,..............Wandering stars.

That track, was written about "The Old Sorcerers"

Listen carefully, and repeatedly,............................feel, the sadness, the eternity, the loss of everything human,.........................................very expressive for me.

You'll find it on YouTube, but, the album version captures the feeling, perfectly.
Comforting, all-inclusive, theories/philosophies, reek of wishful thinking. The human capacity for self-delusion, is well documented. Understanding is very limited. Perception, it seems, is not. The unknown, does not, yield to rationality.

HI,..........no, I did,nt think it worthwhile posting a link, for two reasons.

I reckon, we all know how to search for material on YouTube.

The studio recorded version is much better and clearer than the live versions, so, if, you're interested, get hold of a copy,................I think, the album is called "Dummy".

Truely original and excellent band. I can,t recommend them enough, but, then again, I can,t guarentee your tastes will agree with mine.
My comments, re the applicability to "the old sorcerers", stand.

Enjoy.
