After that story is told is another...

Postby Red Heart on Thu Sep 17, 2009 7:49 am

So this is a new day, a new topic, a new attitude as it were. I am now left with the nagging feeling of what next. I feel pretty good about what has gone before, about making it through and staying sane and relatively focused. I have learned alot, I do feel different somehow. More confident, surprised at the intensity of my experience last fall winter and spring, and also surprised at the perfect storm of events that conspired to bring me to this point. The web of our experiences touches our reality at so many different vectors at one time, it seems magical that we can function at all at any given moment. My next project? Discovering the biological mechanisms of consciousness. Or Who do I think I am to ask such questions? I think I will find out. So thats whats up with this line of thought. All input is welcome, and appreciated...commence au carnivale! :t2

I was talking to my sister the other day...listening to her story of how her x owes thousands of dollars in back blah blah blah and it occured to me....actually hit me like a ton o bricks...Not only can no one MAKE us feel any way at all...we choose to feel the way we feel when given any particular stimulus...BUT we also can choose not to change it....re:roll around in it. Truly we are not victims of anything/one at anytime. Its all about choice...very interesting me thinks

Hi Maiv,

Your last post is, a bull'seye, though, obviously, it only applies to emotions, and not, to physical sensations.
I think, that realisation, is essential, in order to take control of ourselves, rather than, being a puppet for our ego,s.
It also, helps curb overindulgence in temporary emotional states,( if, you want to curb it, that is,).

Discovering the biological mechanisms of consciousness? Could,nt you pick on something bigger?
I applaud your enquiring nature, but, I suggest, you do,nt hold your breath!
Nevertheless, please, share any progress, you may feel, you make with this "tiddler".
Comforting, all-inclusive, theories/philosophies, reek of wishful thinking. The human capacity for self-delusion, is well documented. Understanding is very limited. Perception, it seems, is not. The unknown, does not, yield to rationality.
