From the Song of Enlightment

Postby Mornings Sun on Tue Mar 02, 2010 10:41 am

The mind is a sense organ; dharmas are its object.
The two are like spots on a mirror.
Once the dust is rubbed off, the light begins to appear.
When both mind and dharmas are forgotten, this is the true nature

Walking is chan.
Speaking or silent, moving or stil, the essence is undisturbed.
Remain composed even if facing a sharp weapon.
Be at ease even if given poison.

One nature perfectly pervades all Natures;
One Dharma includes all Dharmas
One Moon appears in all waters
The Moon reflected in all water are One

Here's a variation on that...same words, slightly different translation

Mind is the faculty, things are the objects;
Both are like flaws on a mirror.
When the defilement of objects is obliterated, the light first appears.
When mind and things are both forgotten, nature is real.
Is that so?

Thats a good one Gonz
Makes it point to a mundane level. Just being in the present.
You communicate to a broader group with it Gonz

It make me reflect on what dharmas are. It the body of knowledge both in form and no-form.
Letting go of that leaves you free and feeling stupid - as you hold on to no-knowledge.
Ahh to be a contend fool in the present moment :ofc

Well, you nailed it...I think that's why I like the translation I have of The Blue Cliff Record, because it does bring it to a mundane, every-day level.
Is that so?

To clear the filter
where bullshit becomes the truth
the lie is broken
Galileo Galilei: "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."
