Common up to 1450 m. Mostly in disturbed, grassy habitats. Attracted to bait and flowers.
Similar species: See C. alsimo. Apaustus gracilis has a different wing shape, and lacks the strong yellow marginal line V. Others?

Rare(?) at 550 m.; perhaps more likely to be found in forest than C. radiola radiola. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: C. radiola radiola has a narrow yellow terminal line on both V wings, and lacks the purplish gloss on V.
